Kohli and Rohit Set for Vijay Hazare Trophy on December 24

Kohli and Rohit Set for Vijay Hazare Trophy on December 24

Post by : Meena Ariff

Indian cricket legends Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are poised to return to domestic one-day cricket, creating a huge buzz around the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 season. Their much-anticipated comeback will take place in the opening matches scheduled for Wednesday, December 24. Kohli will represent Delhi, while Rohit will take the field for Mumbai, marking a special moment as both players compete in domestic cricket.

Delhi will begin their journey against Andhra Pradesh, with the match initially set for the prestigious M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. However, due to safety concerns, the Karnataka government's decision to restrict attendance has led organizers to relocate the match to the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru for secure play.

Meanwhile, Mumbai, steered by Rohit Sharma, will start their campaign against Sikkim, followed by a match against Uttarakhand, both taking place in Jaipur. Rohit's leadership is expected to bolster a traditionally strong Mumbai side in their quest for early success in the tournament.

All matches, including Delhi vs Andhra and Mumbai vs Sikkim, are set to kick off at 9:00 AM IST. Despite JioStar being the official broadcaster for the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 season, fans will not be able to watch these matches live on television or through online streaming, limiting their viewing choices.

The presence of these two cricketing icons is likely to elevate team spirit, enhance the tournament's profile, and provide critical growth opportunities for younger players alongside them.
