Train Incident Claims Life of Pedestrian in Richmond Hill

Authorities in York Region are conducting an investigation following a tragic incident where a pedestrian was hit and killed by a train in Richmond Hill on the evening of April 10, 2026.

The collision occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. at the Elgin Mills crossing, positioned east of Yonge Street and north of the Richmond Hill GO station. Emergency services responded promptly to the scene after reports indicated that an individual had been struck by a train.

Officials have confirmed the death of the pedestrian due to the impact; however, further details regarding the victim's identity or the specifics of the event have not been disclosed. Investigations are ongoing as authorities strive to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.
