A significant discussion on international cooperation took place on April 10, 2026, as Turkmenistan engaged with UNESCO in a virtual meeting to strengthen bilateral collaboration.
The meeting was held via videoconference between Deputy Foreign Minister Myahri Byashimova and Amir Piric, Director of UNESCO’s Regional Office in Almaty.
During the talks, both sides reviewed the current state of cooperation and explored future prospects. Officials emphasized that engagement with UNESCO remains a key pillar of Turkmenistan’s international humanitarian cooperation strategy.

Officials underscored the coordinating role of the UNESCO Regional Office in Almaty in ensuring successful execution of projects at both national and regional levels. This coordination is seen as essential for maximizing impact and efficiency.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to deepen cooperation and further strengthen ties between Turkmenistan and UNESCO, reinforcing their joint efforts in cultural and humanitarian development.
