In a major counter-terrorism operation in Kishtwar district, Indian security forces killed three terrorists during an intense encounter under Operation Trashi-I.
The operation was launched after credible intelligence inputs indicated the presence of armed militants in the dense forest area of the Chatroo belt. Joint teams of the Indian Army, local police, and the Central Reserve Police Force moved in to conduct a search operation.
During the mission, the terrorists opened fire using AK-47 rifles, leading to a prolonged gunfight. All three militants were neutralized. Among those killed was a senior commander of the banned terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammad.
Security officials said the operation reflects sustained efforts to counter cross-border terrorism and maintain peace and stability in the region. Search operations were carried out to ensure no remaining threats in the area.
