Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Commerce Minister Suphajee Suthumpun met with Zhang Jianwei at the Chinese Embassy in Bangkok to discuss Thai rice exports to China.
The meeting focused on a 500,000-ton rice export deal. The first shipment of 40,000 tons is scheduled for delivery soon. China confirmed its commitment to accelerating further orders and remaining a key market for Thai exports.
The discussions also covered business operations and investments, with both sides emphasizing the importance of regulating entrepreneurs and investors who operate outside the law. China pledged cooperation with Thailand to ensure proper enforcement and high-quality standards.
Chinese representatives highlighted plans to expand high-tech and robotics investments in Thailand, worth over 10 billion baht, while both sides stressed infrastructure cooperation, particularly in the high-speed rail project to strengthen regional economic connectivity.
The meeting reaffirmed strong Thai–Chinese relations, with China praising Thailand’s leadership and commitment to trade cooperation, ensuring that Thailand remains a strategic export partner amid ongoing global trade challenges.
