Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — Twin brothers Sufyan and Yusuf, who are conjoined at birth and originally from Pakistan, arrived in Saudi Arabia on Monday for medical evaluation ahead of a possible separation surgery.
The family was welcomed at King Khalid International Airport and immediately transferred to King Abdullah Specialized Children’s Hospital in Riyadh. This hospital, part of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs, is known for treating complex pediatric conditions, including conjoined twins.
Their travel to the Kingdom was arranged under the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, highlighting the Saudi leadership’s support for humanitarian medical initiatives.
At the hospital, the twins’ condition will be assessed by a specialist medical team led by Dr. Abdullah Al‑Rabeeah, head of the country’s Saudi Conjoined Twins Program. Saudi officials say the Kingdom’s accumulated expertise in separating conjoined twins has made it a leading global destination for such procedures.
The twins’ family expressed deep gratitude to the Saudi leadership and people for the warm welcome and prompt response to their case. Officials have described the initiative as a reflection of Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian role and medical capabilities in caring for children with complex health needs from around the world.
