Dubai is setting a new standard in government communication and citizen engagement, presenting a holistic strategy that enhances cooperation among various agencies.
The General Network of Government Communication (GNGC), operating under the General Secretariat of The Executive Council, gathered at Jumeirah Emirates Towers for a significant meeting aimed at outlining Dubai’s strategic preparedness and comprehensive government integration model. Officials highlighted how a cohesive communication strategy keeps residents informed while boosting confidence in governmental actions.
In the plenary session titled ‘Dubai’s Model for Readiness, Proactivity and Government Integration’, Secretary General Abdulla Mohammed Al Basti pointed out that trust plays a vital role, particularly during challenging times, which aids in the swift and effective management of crises. Dubai's collaborative frameworks among governmental bodies have globally recognized speed and effectiveness in translating opportunities into real results.
The session also discussed the recent revisions to Dubai’s Government Communication Guide, which now outlines a structured approach to strategic communication, media management, and corporate functions. This guide ensures that all government communications—from social media outreach to creative campaigns—align with Dubai Plan 2033 and related agendas, promoting operational efficiency across departments.
Assistant Secretary General Sabah Salem Al Shamsi noted the introduction of the guide under Executive Council Decision No. (47) of 2025, emphasizing its role in standardizing procedures and fostering collaboration while stimulating innovative communication efforts. Meanwhile, Director Budoor Ali spoke on the importance of proactive engagement, detailing how the GNGC’s methods amplify public knowledge and trust throughout the city.
The meeting also unveiled key initiatives like the City Makers program, which harmonizes services across education, healthcare, community development, and economic sectors. Innovative frameworks such as Jabr simplify services for families in mourning, offering a single point of contact among 22 governmental entities to efficiently manage required procedures with compassion.
Dubai’s approach illustrates how cohesive communication and integrated service delivery can yield practical results, fortify public trust, and elevate the city’s global reputation—all while prioritizing residents in governmental affairs.
