The United Arab Emirates field hospital in Gaza received a delegation from the World Health Organization on February 24, 2026, to review the range of medical services being provided to Palestinian patients under difficult circumstances. The visit underscored the UAE’s ongoing commitment to supporting the health sector and strengthening hospitals in Gaza, which continue to operate under severe pressures due to limited resources and challenging conditions.
During the delegation’s visit, the UAE field hospital handed over a substantial supply of essential medicines, medical equipment, and other critical supplies. These contributions are intended to enhance the operational capacity of Palestinian hospitals and clinics, allowing them to continue delivering vital healthcare services across various governorates. The support also includes training, technical guidance, and coordination with local health authorities to optimize patient care and ensure the efficient use of resources.
This initiative is part of the UAE’s broader, long-term efforts to assist Gaza’s healthcare system. By providing medical aid, logistical support, and expertise, the UAE aims to alleviate the burdens faced by local medical institutions and ensure that both emergency and routine care remain available to the population. The collaboration with the WHO reflects a commitment to international standards in healthcare delivery, emphasizing patient safety, treatment quality, and sustainable support for Gaza’s health infrastructure.
Officials from both the UAE and WHO highlighted the importance of continued international cooperation to address the healthcare challenges in Gaza, stressing that such partnerships are crucial for maintaining essential services during ongoing humanitarian crises. The delegation expressed appreciation for the UAE’s contributions and encouraged further collaboration to strengthen the resilience of the local health system.
