Commuters in Kuala Lumpur experienced major disruptions during the morning rush hour after an overgrown tree obstructed tracks on the Kelana Jaya LRT line near Taman Paramount station. The incident caused delays across the line, affecting thousands of daily passengers.
According to Rapid KL, the disruption was reported earlier in the morning, prompting immediate action to clear the obstruction. As a temporary measure, train services were split into three segments, with trains from Putra Heights terminating at Kelana Jaya, while those from Gombak stopped at Taman Jaya.
To assist stranded commuters, shuttle train services were introduced between Kelana Jaya and Taman Jaya stations. This alternative arrangement helped manage passenger flow while maintenance crews worked to remove the tree branches from the tracks.
By 9:45am, Rapid KL confirmed that the obstruction had been cleared and normal services had resumed. However, commuters were advised to expect slight delays as train schedules gradually return to normal.
