Xi Urges Use of Yiwu Model for Growth Path

Xi Urges Use of Yiwu Model for Growth Path

Post by : Shakul

Xi Jinping has issued an important instruction calling for the wider application of the “Yiwu development experience” to support high-quality economic growth across China. The directive highlights the importance of adapting successful local models to suit the specific conditions of different regions.

Speaking from Beijing, Xi emphasized that Yiwu’s success shows how small-scale industries can grow into large and competitive markets. The city has transformed its small commodities sector into a powerful economic driver, creating what is now known as the “Yiwu development experience.”

The Chinese leadership believes that this model is a strong example of how local resources and grassroots innovation can drive development. Xi encouraged all regions to study this approach carefully and apply it in ways that match their own economic strengths and conditions.

He also stressed the importance of reform, innovation, and practical efforts. According to him, long-term dedication and consistent work are necessary to build sustainable and high-quality growth that benefits both local communities and the national economy.

Yiwu’s growth story is closely linked to its focus on trade and entrepreneurship. The city has developed a large network of small businesses, which together have built a strong global presence in the export market.

Today, Yiwu has more than 1.26 million business entities and maintains trade relations with over 230 countries and regions. By 2025, its export volume is expected to rank first among all county-level regions in China, showing its global importance.

Xi’s instruction aims to encourage other regions to follow similar paths of development. By using local advantages and supporting innovation, China plans to strengthen its overall economic system and achieve balanced and sustainable growth in the future.
