Miral has proudly announced that Warner Bros. World Yas Island in Abu Dhabi has achieved the esteemed 2026 Liseberg Applause Award, marking a historic moment as the first theme park in the Middle East to receive this global accolade.
This award is renowned as one of the oldest and most prestigious honors within the global attractions sector, celebrating achievements in theme park management, creativity, operations, and guest satisfaction.
The accolade was awarded during the IAAPA Honors gala event held in Xcaret, Mexico. Hind Galadari, General Manager of Warner Bros. World, alongside Daniel Wills, Executive Director of Projects Delivery at Miral, accepted the award on behalf of their dedicated team.
Dr. Mohammad Abdalla Al Zaabi, Group CEO of Miral, expressed that this achievement reflects the creativity, passion, and commitment of the teams and partners involved with Warner Bros. World. He reiterated that this recognition bolsters Miral's vision of enhancing Yas Island’s status as a premier global leisure and entertainment hub while aligning with Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Strategy 2030.
Since its inception in 1980, only 22 theme parks around the globe have received the Applause Award, with one park selected per award cycle. Notable past winners include Universal Studios Japan, Tokyo DisneySea, and Xcaret Park.
Developed in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences, Warner Bros. World Yas Island stands as the largest indoor theme park in the region. The park showcases six immersive themed lands, cutting-edge rides, live entertainment, and family-oriented experiences.
Plans are underway for a significant expansion, which will introduce an eagerly awaited Harry Potter-themed land along with two new DC-themed rides, enhancing the entertainment options for visitors from around the globe.
This recent recognition underscores Miral’s continued endeavors to position Yas Island and Abu Dhabi among the world’s foremost tourism and entertainment destinations.
