Tamil Nadu politics has witnessed a dramatic political development as actor-turned-politician Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) reportedly moved closer to forming the next government in the state. According to political reports and ongoing developments, the TVK-led alliance has crossed the crucial majority mark of 118 seats required in the 234-member Tamil Nadu Assembly. The development has created major excitement and intense political discussions across the state.
The turning point reportedly came after the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), Communist Party of India (CPI), and Communist Party of India (Marxist) or CPI(M) extended their support to the TVK-led bloc. Reports suggest that support letters were submitted after several rounds of political discussions and meetings between alliance leaders. This support is being seen as a major boost for Vijay’s political ambitions and his growing influence in Tamil Nadu politics.
Political analysts believe that this development could mark a historic shift in Tamil Nadu’s political landscape. For decades, the state’s politics has largely been dominated by major Dravidian parties. However, Vijay’s emergence and the rapid rise of TVK have introduced a fresh political challenge that may reshape future electoral dynamics in the state. Supporters of the actor-politician see this as the beginning of a new political era.
The reported alliance support has also intensified speculation regarding government formation and leadership in the state. Vijay, who entered politics after enjoying massive popularity in the Tamil film industry, has quickly built a strong support base among young voters and first-time political supporters. His party has focused heavily on issues related to governance, transparency, development, and youth engagement.
Several political observers say the support from Left parties and VCK could strengthen TVK’s credibility and expand its influence across different voter groups in Tamil Nadu. The alliance may also help the party gain stronger organizational support at the grassroots level, especially in constituencies where regional and ideological partnerships play an important role in election outcomes.
Despite the growing political momentum, official confirmation regarding government formation and final legislative numbers is still awaited. Political discussions and strategic meetings are expected to continue as parties prepare for the next phase of developments. Meanwhile, the reported majority support for TVK has already become one of the biggest political stories in Tamil Nadu and across India.
