Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra has been admitted to a Mumbai hospital after reportedly experiencing breathing difficulties. The 89-year-old star, who was initially said to be undergoing a routine check-up, is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) under close medical supervision.
Sources close to the actor revealed that Dharmendra was rushed to the hospital late last night when he complained of discomfort while breathing. His medical team confirmed that he remains stable and under observation, and there is no cause for alarm at this stage.
Earlier, Dharmendra’s team had dismissed reports of any serious condition, calling his hospital visit a “routine check-up.” However, journalist Vickey Lalwani later reported that hospital staff confirmed the actor had been admitted to the ICU following breathing issues.
A hospital source stated, “Dharmendra Ji is stable. His vital signs are normal, and doctors are monitoring him closely.”
Dharmendra’s sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, are reportedly by his side and have adjusted their schedules to remain with their father. The actor, who turns 90 in December, has faced occasional health concerns in recent years, but he remains active and positive.
Earlier this year, Dharmendra underwent cataract surgery and shared cheerful updates with fans, reassuring them of his recovery. Known for his warm connection with audiences, the legendary actor often interacts with fans through Instagram, posting personal moments and heartfelt messages.
Social media platforms have since been flooded with well-wishes from fans and fellow actors, with the hashtag #PrayForDharmendra trending across India.
Dharmendra was last seen in the 2024 romantic comedy “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” alongside Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. His next appearance will be in “Ikkis”, where he plays Brigadier M.L. Khetarpal (Retd.), the father of Param Vir Chakra awardee Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, portrayed by Agastya Nanda.
As fans continue to send prayers and messages of support, doctors remain optimistic about the veteran actor’s recovery, urging everyone not to panic as his condition remains stable
