UAE Issues Firm Condemnation of Iranian Attacks Against Kuwait

UAE Issues Firm Condemnation of Iranian Attacks Against Kuwait

Post by : Rameen Ariff

The United Arab Emirates has firmly condemned the missile and drone strikes by Iran aimed at Kuwait, labeling them a significant breach of international law and an affront to Kuwait’s sovereignty.

An official declaration from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs characterized the attacks as a “blatant violation” of Kuwait’s territorial sovereignty, posing a direct threat to both its security and regional stability.

The UAE emphasized that such acts jeopardize peace initiatives in the area and escalate tensions at a critical juncture for all Gulf nations. It reiterated its unequivocal rejection of any form of aggression that jeopardizes the safety of sovereign states and hampers regional tranquility.

In addition, the statement affirmed the UAE’s complete solidarity with the Kuwaiti leadership, government, and citizens, supporting any measures Kuwait may implement to ensure its security, safeguard its airspace, and preserve stability.

This condemnation followed reports from Kuwait’s military, which disclosed that their air defense systems successfully thwarted several missiles and drones intended to breach its airspace. The military confirmed that the hostile attempts were intercepted before inflicting significant harm.

Kuwait's security authorities are currently on heightened alert as investigations continue into the origins and motives behind the attacks.

The UAE reasserted that ensuring security and stability within the Gulf region is a collective responsibility and urged all parties to exercise restraint to prevent further escalation.
