His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum recognized the recipients of the second iteration of the Zero Bureaucracy Award at a distinguished ceremony in the UAE, attended by senior leaders, ministers, and other officials.
Dignitaries included Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Sheikh Mohammed expressed his admiration for the government teams that have ingrained quicker service and streamlined procedures into their everyday operations. He emphasized the UAE's commitment to fostering a people-centric model that enhances public service while minimizing redundant bureaucracy.
He also unveiled the forthcoming phase of the Zero Bureaucracy Programme named “Zero Bureaucracy using Agentic AI,” aimed at deploying cutting-edge AI technologies to cultivate a more informed, expedited, and efficient government framework.
The Best Government Team award went to the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for its Maritime Transport Bundle project, noted for its role in simplifying processes and boosting service efficacy across federal departments.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs earned recognition in the Digital Bureaucracy category for its One Time Digital Certification initiative. The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security was commended for its Smart Customs System.
Emirates Post was celebrated in the Impact on the Business Sector category for its National Logistics Network initiative, enhancing services and streamlining operations for businesses.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation received accolades in the Use of AI in Zero Bureaucracy category for its AI Employment Contract Verification System.
In the Making Life Easier category, two initiatives were awarded. The Federal Electricity and Water Authority was recognized for its Instant Approvals for New Areas project, while the Recognition of Foreign Academic Qualifications initiative also received an award.
The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment garnered attention in the Community Engagement category for its Farmers and Fishermen Services project, which enhanced communication, transparency, and public involvement.
In the Government to Government Services category, the Ministry of Finance was honored for its Smart Financial Governance Operations project, alongside the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security's One-Time Data Request initiative.
Initiated in 2024, the Zero Bureaucracy Award serves to honor federal teams dedicated to reducing bureaucracy and delivering efficient public services.
The UAE Government launched the Zero Bureaucracy Programme in November 2023 to enhance governmental efficiency, accelerate services, simplify procedures, and eliminate unnecessary barriers for both citizens and businesses.
