The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced the successful interception of two ballistic missiles and three drones launched from Iran on May 8, 2026. This incident has left three individuals with moderate injuries.
The ministry stated that this attack is a continuation of the Iranian strikes aimed at the UAE. To date, UAE air defence systems have neutralized 551 ballistic missiles, 29 cruise missiles, and 2,263 drones during the conflict.
In total, the number of reported injuries since the onset of these attacks has reached 230, affecting individuals of various nationalities including Emirati, Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, and numerous others.
Furthermore, officials reported that the number of individuals who have died has risen to three, with one being a Moroccan contractor working with the armed forces. The civilian death toll stands at 10, with victims from India, Pakistan, Nepal, and Palestine among others.
The Ministry of Defence emphasized the UAE's readiness to counter any threats to its security and stability. Authorities reassured that all necessary precautions are being implemented to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty, its citizens, residents, and critical infrastructure amidst rising regional unrest.
