Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, held a high-level meeting in Abu Dhabi with Kang Hoon-sik, the Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Korea. The envoy conveyed greetings from President Lee Jae-myung, reaffirming strong diplomatic ties between the two nations.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged warm wishes for continued prosperity and emphasized the importance of strengthening their long-standing Special Strategic Partnership. The UAE and South Korea have steadily expanded cooperation in key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, technology, and defense, reflecting deep mutual trust and shared economic interests.
Focus On Regional Stability
Discussions also covered recent regional developments and their broader impact on global security. Both leaders stressed the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful engagement to address ongoing tensions and prevent escalation in conflict-prone regions.
The South Korean envoy expressed his country’s support for the UAE’s efforts to safeguard its national security and stability, highlighting solidarity between the two nations in facing emerging geopolitical challenges.
Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation
The meeting further explored ways to deepen collaboration under their strategic partnership framework. Areas of cooperation include clean energy initiatives, innovation, and investment opportunities, building on existing projects such as nuclear energy cooperation and trade relations.
The envoy also appreciated the UAE’s efforts in ensuring the safety and well-being of Korean nationals living in the country, reflecting the UAE’s commitment to maintaining a secure and inclusive environment for residents.
Senior UAE officials, including members of the Presidential Court, were present during the discussions, underscoring the importance of the meeting in advancing diplomatic and economic ties.
