UAE and Luxembourg Strengthen Bilateral Ties Amid Regional Tensions

UAE and Luxembourg Strengthen Bilateral Ties Amid Regional Tensions

Post by : Badri Ariffin

During a recent visit to Luxembourg, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held talks with Prime Minister Luc Frieden.

The discussions centered on reinforcing the robust ties shared between the United Arab Emirates and Luxembourg, exploring avenues for enhanced collaboration in sectors like trade, economy, and investment that align with both nations’ developmental ambitions.

Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the expanding partnership opportunities and reiterated the UAE’s dedication to fostering a durable and progressive relationship with Luxembourg to ensure sustainable growth.

In addition, the leaders exchanged perspectives on significant regional and international matters of shared interest.

They addressed the recent attacks by Iran on civilian targets in the UAE, utilizing missiles and drones, and their potential repercussions for maritime security, global energy resources, and economic stability.

The dialogue also touched on drone assaults emanating from Iraq, including one targeting the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant, which resulted in an attack on an external electricity generator of the facility.

Prime Minister Luc Frieden expressed Luxembourg’s solidarity with the UAE, condemning the assaults strongly. Sheikh Abdullah, in turn, acknowledged Luxembourg’s backing and assured the safety of residents and visitors within the UAE.

The meeting saw the participation of prominent UAE officials, including Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, and UAE Ambassador Mohamed Ismail Al Sahlawi.
