UAE Foils Missile Attack as Explosions Echo in Gulf

UAE Foils Missile Attack as Explosions Echo in Gulf

Post by : Shakul

DUBAI — The United Arab Emirates activated its air defence systems after ballistic missiles and drones were launched toward the country amid escalating regional tensions linked to the conflict with Iran.

The UAE Ministry of Defence confirmed that multiple ballistic missiles and drones were intercepted. Authorities stated that air defence systems successfully destroyed most incoming threats, while a small number fell within the country’s territory. The ministry added that some collateral damage occurred and three foreign nationals were killed, while dozens suffered minor injuries.

The Dubai Media Office confirmed that loud explosions heard across parts of Dubai were the result of successful interception operations. Officials said there were no direct injuries reported in Dubai and that emergency teams remain on high alert.

Explosions were also reported in Doha, Qatar, and Manama, Bahrain, as regional security tensions intensified. Qatar’s Ministry of Interior announced precautionary evacuations near the U.S. Embassy, with temporary accommodations provided to affected residents.

Air travel disruptions followed the escalation. Etihad Airways suspended scheduled commercial flights to and from Abu Dhabi temporarily. Authorities said aviation safety remains a priority as monitoring continues.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Department of State issued advisories for American citizens in several Gulf countries, urging them to consider departure options. The UAE government confirmed that it is assisting stranded passengers and covering temporary accommodation costs for displaced residents.

Global trade has also been affected, with shipping and export operations facing delays due to regional instability. Officials across the Gulf region continue to monitor developments as the conflict enters a critical phase.
