In a rapid response over the last 48 hours, the UAE's air defense systems successfully intercepted six drones that posed threats to civilian zones and key infrastructure throughout the nation.
The Ministry of Defence confirmed that there were no reported injuries or damages during these interceptions. Officials commended the armed forces for their swift reaction and exceptional readiness to tackle such threats.
Additionally, new findings have emerged from the investigation concerning the May 17 drone attack on the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant.
According to the investigation, three drones were involved in the Barakah incident. Two drones were intercepted by UAE's defense systems, while one managed to hit an electricity generator situated outside the plant's inner security perimeter.
Tracking efforts have confirmed that both the drones that attacked Barakah and others intercepted subsequently originated from Iraq.
The UAE has asserted its right to implement all necessary actions to safeguard its sovereignty and ensure the security of its civilian infrastructure, in accordance with international laws.
The Ministry of Defence reiterated that the armed forces are fully equipped to address any threats posed against the nation’s security and stability.
