A delegation from Turkmenistan is participating in the 10th International Forum on Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. The event is being held in Barcelona from April 27 to 29, 2026, bringing together global leaders, policymakers, and business experts.
The forum serves as an important platform to discuss innovative approaches to infrastructure development, investment strategies, and sustainable economic growth. Turkmenistan’s participation reflects its growing focus on strengthening international cooperation and adopting modern economic practices.
During the forum, the Turkmen delegation is presenting key initiatives aimed at developing the country’s modern market economy. Officials are also highlighting the increasing role of the private sector in driving national growth and creating new economic opportunities.
Participants at the event are being introduced to several promising sectors for cooperation. These include transport and logistics, energy development, agriculture, digital economy, urban infrastructure, and tourism, all of which offer strong potential for foreign investment.
A major highlight of Turkmenistan’s presentation is the Avaza National Tourist Zone, which is being promoted as an attractive destination for private investors. The zone is expected to play a key role in boosting tourism and economic development.
As a landlocked country, Turkmenistan is placing strong emphasis on the importance of public-private partnerships to overcome geographic challenges and improve connectivity. The country is also supporting the Avaza Action Plan for Landlocked Developing Countries for the decade 2024–2034.
Officials believe that participation in the forum will help strengthen global partnerships and attract investment into key sectors. It also highlights Turkmenistan’s commitment to sustainable development and economic modernization through international collaboration.
