Trump Calls Democrats “Radical Left Scum” in Christmas Message

Trump Calls Democrats “Radical Left Scum” in Christmas Message

Post by : Meena Ariff

On Christmas Eve, US President Donald Trump used the festive occasion to sharply criticize opposition Democrats, branding them as “radical left scum” in a holiday message that stirred political controversy. From his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, Trump mixed holiday greetings with pointed political attacks in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social.

While spreading some Christmas cheer through NORAD’s Santa tracker calls and extending warm wishes to American troops stationed around the world, Trump did not hold back on his criticism of the Democrats. He accused them of trying to “destroy our Country,” but claimed they were failing badly in their efforts.

Trump highlighted several key achievements under his administration, including a record stock market and 401(k) plans, the lowest crime rates seen in decades, no inflation, and an impressive 4.3 percent GDP growth in the third quarter of the year—two points higher than expected. These economic indicators were touted as proof of his administration’s success, despite ongoing concerns about inflation.

The recent Commerce Department report showed mixed economic signals. While the 4.3 percent GDP growth marks the highest in two years, the inflation rate also rose significantly, with the price index for domestic purchases climbing by 3.4 percent in the third quarter compared to 2.0 percent in the previous quarter. This mixed economic data has drawn criticism from Democrats, who have questioned the administration’s handling of the cost of living and inflation issues.

In the days leading up to Christmas, Democrats also criticized the Justice Department over the slow release and heavy redaction of thousands of records related to the investigation of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, a former associate of Trump. The controversy added fuel to the already heated political climate.

Despite the political sparring, Trump made sure to recognize and send his gratitude to American troops worldwide. His holiday greetings included those involved in a significant naval buildup in Caribbean waters, part of a US campaign to apply pressure on Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro to step down.

As the nation celebrated the holiday season, Trump's blunt message underscored the deep political divisions ahead of the upcoming election year, mixing traditional Christmas greetings with sharp partisan rhetoric.
