Trump Unveils Luxurious Renovation of White House Lincoln Bathroom

Trump Unveils Luxurious Renovation of White House Lincoln Bathroom

Post by : Rameen Ariff

President Donald Trump revealed a lavish makeover of the Lincoln Bathroom inside the White House, showcasing a marble-and-gold renovation that departs dramatically from the bathroom’s previous mid-century style.

On Friday, Trump posted more than two dozen photos on his social media platform, Truth Social, highlighting the transformation from pale green tiles and strip lights dating back to the 1940s to elegant white and gray marble walls accented by gold taps and mirrors.

“I renovated the Lincoln Bathroom in the White House. It was renovated in the 1940s in an art deco green tile style, which was totally inappropriate for the Lincoln Era,” Trump wrote. “I did it in black and white polished Statuary marble. This was very appropriate for the time of Abraham Lincoln and, in fact, could be the marble that was originally there!”

The Lincoln Bathroom is situated near the famous Lincoln Bedroom on the second floor of the executive mansion where the president resides. The bedroom itself, once Abraham Lincoln’s office and cabinet room, was renamed in 1945 under President Harry Truman, who furnished it with items from Lincoln’s era.

This renovation marks the first major interior upgrade inside the White House mansion itself during Trump’s current administration, following his controversial October decision to demolish the entire East Wing to make way for a $300 million new ballroom.

Trump’s interior design choices have sparked debate, with critics calling them extravagant or even tacky. Among his previous changes are gold decorations in the Oval Office, a paved patio in the Rose Garden, and towering flagpoles on the White House lawns.

Notably, billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has shared that he stayed in the Lincoln Bedroom multiple times when working with Trump’s administration on cost-cutting initiatives.

As Trump continues to leave his personal stamp on the historic residence, the Lincoln Bathroom renovation stands out as a nod to presidential history wrapped in contemporary luxury, blending the past with the present in one of America’s most iconic buildings.
