Traffic Control Measures Near IGI Stadium for A.R. Rahman Concert

Traffic Control Measures Near IGI Stadium for A.R. Rahman Concert

Post by : Maya Rahman

Due to the upcoming concert titled “Harmony of Hearts” by renowned musician A R Rahman, traffic control measures will be strictly implemented around the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi this Saturday evening. The event is scheduled from 6 pm to 10 pm, prompting authorities to manage traffic flow in the vicinity for safety and crowd control.

Roads such as IP Marg, Vikas Marg, and segments of the Ring Road between Rajghat and IP Depot may experience significant congestion. If deemed necessary, vehicles on IP Marg and Vikas Marg will be redirected, and heavy vehicles will be prohibited from traveling towards IP Marg from Rajghat during the event's hours. To avoid disruptions, commuters are urged to steer clear of these routes from 12 noon to 11 pm on December 20.

In addition, special parking regulations have been instituted. Only vehicles displaying valid parking permits will be allowed to park near the stadium. These permits must be clearly visible on the windscreen, including the vehicle number. Cars without the necessary permits will be barred from entering the area. Those with permits should access the parking areas using the Ring Road through MGM Road.

Moreover, no parking will be permitted along both sides of the Ring Road, specifically between Rajghat and the IP flyover during the concert duration. Vehicles found parked in violation of these rules may be removed and subject to further legal action.

To enter the stadium, attendees can access through gates 7 and 8 from Velodrome Road, while gates 21, 22, and 23 are reachable from MGM Road on the Ring Road side. Additionally, gates 16 and 18 will be open for entry from MGM Road. Travel planning in advance is highly recommended for all guests.
