Authorities in Toronto are amplifying their efforts to find a 14-year-old girl who has been missing since May 15. The girl, Esther “Esti,” was last spotted near Earl Bales Park in North York, generating significant concern for her safety. Both law enforcement and community volunteers are now engaged in extensive search operations for her.
Investigators report that Esther was last seen around 11:15 p.m. near a community center adjacent to Earl Bales Park. She has not communicated with anyone since then. Described as approximately 5-foot-2 with brown hair and a medium build, Esther was reportedly clad in a green shirt and grey pants at the time of her disappearance.
Toronto Police have elevated the search operation to “Priority 1” status, mobilizing significant resources to aid in the search for the teenager. Drones, mounted units, marine teams, and search crews are combing through the park's densely wooded areas and surrounding neighborhoods.
Hundreds of dedicated volunteers have joined forces with local community groups like Shomrim Safety Patrol, actively aiding police efforts by distributing flyers, inspecting residential areas, and reviewing surveillance footage. Search teams are going from door to door, urging residents to check their backyards, sheds, garages, and security cameras for any signs of Esther.
In heartfelt public appeals, Esther’s parents have urged their daughter to return home safely. They emphasized that she is “not in trouble” and encouraged anyone with information to reach out to the police without hesitation. The local community is profoundly affected, with many individuals rallying to assist in the search and promote awareness online.
Law enforcement officials express growing concern for Esther’s well-being, particularly given the duration of her absence. They are appealing to local businesses, coffee shops, transit personnel, and residents to stay vigilant and report any sightings. Authorities stress that community cooperation is essential for successfully locating the missing teenager.
The case has gained considerable attention throughout Canada and international communities. Volunteer rescue teams from beyond Toronto are also assisting in ongoing search efforts, which continue around the clock.
Toronto Police are urging anyone with information relevant to Esther’s case to immediately contact emergency services or the local police department. Their main priority is to bring the teenager home safely in the shortest time possible.
