Thailand Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and his senior delegation have officially arrived in Paris to begin a high-level diplomatic and economic mission aimed at strengthening Thailand’s international partnerships and promoting national interests in Europe.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the Thai delegation landed at Paris-Orly International Airport early Friday morning local time. The delegation includes senior ministers responsible for finance, foreign affairs and culture, reflecting the broad strategic importance of the visit.
One of the Prime Minister’s first major engagements will be a meeting with the Director-General of the International Energy Agency. Discussions are expected to focus on strengthening Thailand’s energy security amid ongoing global supply uncertainties and rising international energy concerns.
The Prime Minister is also scheduled to meet UNESCO officials to expand cultural cooperation and promote Thai heritage and soft power on the global stage. Thai officials view cultural diplomacy as an important tool for strengthening international recognition and tourism opportunities.
During the visit, the Thai leader will also engage with members of the Thai community in France and attend religious ceremonies honouring Queen Rambhai Barni. Meetings with Thai business representatives operating in Europe are also planned, particularly in the sectors of food production, sustainable packaging and restaurant industries.
On the economic front, the Prime Minister is expected to hold talks with French private sector leaders and representatives from industries including aerospace, medical technology and advanced manufacturing. These discussions aim to attract investment and deepen trade cooperation between Thailand and France.
A major highlight of the visit will be the official dinner reception hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace. Both leaders are expected to discuss bilateral relations, economic cooperation and future partnerships between the two countries.
The diplomatic trip is also seen as part of Thailand’s wider strategy to strengthen its engagement with Europe while improving cooperation in energy, culture, technology and investment during a period of global economic uncertainty.
