Thai AirAsia (TAA) is targeting 6-9% revenue growth in 2026, supported by 23.5 million passengers and an 85% load factor, as tourism rebounds. The airline aims to strengthen domestic routes, where it holds a 41% market share, while expanding international operations, including new direct flights from China to Chiang Mai and additional fifth-freedom routes.
The company plans to deploy five new Airbus A320 aircraft in the second half of the year to support expansion. TAA also intends to boost marketing in European and Russian markets, anticipating long-haul travel recovery. Charter flights to Chinese cities like Hubei will supplement scheduled services during the low season.
Passengers using the airline's “fly-thru” services are expected to rise to 6.7% of total passengers. TAA will enhance customs, immigration, and quarantine facilities at several Thai airports to improve passenger experience.
With Airports of Thailand raising the international passenger service charge, fares will reflect the increase, but demand is expected to remain stable if Thailand is positioned as a quality destination. The airline’s long-term fleet plan includes Airbus A321neo, A321LR, and A321XLR aircraft, some of which will be used on new strategic long-range routes to the Middle East and Europe.
