The Sheikh Zayed Festival's Higher Committee prepares for one of the most extravagant New Year’s Eve celebrations in the UAE, taking place at Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi. This year’s event promises a stunning blend of advanced tech, cultural heritage, and unparalleled entertainment to usher in 2026.
A standout feature will be a continuous 62-minute fireworks display, aiming to set multiple Guinness World Records and unfolding in five meticulously planned phases throughout the night. The main festivities will kick off at 8pm, culminating in a spectacular midnight finale that will light up the Al Wathba skyline utilizing the latest in synchronization and launch technology.
In addition to the fireworks, attendees will experience the world’s largest drone show, featuring 6,500 drones performing together in a single 20-minute spectacle. This performance will unveil nine giant aerial formations for the first time globally and will be synchronized with a digital countdown and fireworks, offering a deeply immersive and modern experience.
The festival's strong participation from official sponsors, strategic partners, and various countries ensures unique offerings across the festival grounds. Interactive cultural experiences will be provided by governmental organizations, while specialized partners will contribute technical skills, and international performers will enhance the festival's role as a prominent global cultural platform.
Cultural programming will showcase traditional Emirati performances such as Al Ayala, Al Razfa, and Al Nadooba, along with various international acts. Attendees can also enjoy lively carnival parades, live music, and cultural demonstrations throughout the evening.
Families will have access to a variety of activities, including entertainment for children at the Kids’ Theatre and attractions at the newly launched Wonderland entertainment city, making the event enjoyable for all ages.
To accommodate expected large crowds, the Higher Committee has enhanced operational measures, including more entry and exit points, wider pedestrian pathways, improved safety and medical services, and specialized field teams dedicated to ensuring smooth crowd flow. Entry will be restricted once the maximum capacity is reached to guarantee visitor safety.
Visitors are encouraged to follow the festival’s official channels for information and to secure tickets in advance. These meticulous preparations emphasize the festival's dedication to offering one of the most memorable New Year celebrations in the region, uniting tradition, innovation, and top-notch entertainment in a lively setting.
