In a shocking event near the K Towne Plaza in Carrollton, Texas, a suburb just north of Dallas, two individuals lost their lives and three others sustained injuries during a shooting incident on Tuesday morning. According to local authorities, the police confirmed that this was not a random act of violence; the suspect had a personal connection with the victims.
According to Carrollton Police Chief Roberto Arredondo, officers were dispatched after reports of gunfire were received shortly before 10 a.m. Upon arrival, they found multiple individuals injured in the shopping center’s parking lot. One victim was declared dead at the scene, while the other three were rushed to local hospitals for urgent care. A second deceased individual was later found at a nearby apartment linked to the suspect.
The suspect was identified as 69-year-old Seung Han Ho. After fleeing the scene, he was apprehended following a brief foot pursuit near an H-Mart grocery store. During police questioning, he allegedly confessed to his involvement in the shooting.
Investigations suggest that the shooting stemmed from a business dispute among acquaintances. Chief Arredondo mentioned that investigators are still piecing together details regarding the events leading up to the gunfire. Officials assured the public that there is no ongoing threat.
Videos circulating online depicted a significant police presence at K Towne Plaza, where officers were diligently searching nearby businesses. The FBI and federal law enforcement joined local police to assist with the investigation, leading to temporary closures of sections of the plaza for evidence collection.
This incident has deeply shaken Carrollton’s Korean-American community, which has been growing over the last two decades. Local residents emphasized that the area is typically peaceful and family-oriented, highlighting the shocking nature of the violence for both business owners and shoppers.
While formal charges against the suspect have yet to be announced, ongoing investigations include the review of surveillance footage, witness interviews, and an exploration of the professional relationships linked to the incident. Police have confirmed that all three survivors are currently in stable condition.
