Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum inaugurated the 20th edition of Art Dubai at Madinat Jumeirah, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The event will be open to the public from May 15 to 17.
Marking a significant milestone in its two-decade journey, Art Dubai 2026 underscores the advancement of Dubai’s cultural and creative sectors while elevating the emirate as a global hub for arts and culture.
This year’s festival features a variety of galleries, artists, and cultural institutions, emphasizing collaboration and diverse artistic expressions through exhibitions, installations, talks, performances, and live activations.
At the inauguration, Sheikha Latifa remarked that for 20 years, Art Dubai has embodied Dubai’s cultural ambitions and openness. She emphasized that the event has transformed from a standard art fair into a vital international platform connecting artists, collectors, and communities worldwide.
She further highlighted that this special milestone edition showcases the evolution, strength, and endurance of Dubai’s broader creative ecosystem, fostered through long-term vision and significant cultural investments.
During her engagement at the fair, Sheikha Latifa explored numerous gallery exhibitions, including the notable “Made Forward,” which is part of the Dubai Collection, tackling themes like belonging and identity through works from over 20 private UAE collections.
Additionally, she visited an exhibition of modern Arab art organized by the Barjeel Art Foundation, as well as unique large-scale installations and artworks throughout the venue.
During her exploration, Sheikha Latifa interacted with artists, gallery representatives, and cultural partners, engaging in discussions regarding Art Dubai’s growth and its vital role in enhancing the arts landscape both locally and internationally.
She was accompanied by Benedetta Ghione, Executive Director at Art Dubai Group; Alexie Glass-Kantor, Executive Director at Art Dubai Group; and Dunja Gottweis, Director at Art Dubai Fair.
Art Dubai 2026 aims to ensure that art and culture remain accessible to everyone, providing free public access to key areas and programs throughout the fair.
This year’s event showcases over 75 presentations from various galleries and institutions, reflecting robust regional participation alongside exhibitors from nearly 20 different countries. The fair is presented in collaboration with A.R.M. Holding and backed by leading cultural entities.
