In a recent meeting, Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan evaluated the progress of Al Ain's energy and water initiatives, emphasizing strategic projects designed to enhance infrastructure and provide sustainable services to the population.
This briefing involved representatives from the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy and TAQA, with insights provided by Dr Abdulla Humaid Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Energy Department.
Sheikh Hazza was informed about ongoing strategies aimed at boosting resilience and improving emergency response capabilities within these vital sectors. The talks also focused on ensuring continuous service availability during crises, aligning with the long-term sustainability goals for Al Ain.
Moreover, strategic infrastructure developments were discussed, focusing on accommodating the region’s increasing urbanization and population growth. These initiatives seek to enhance operational efficiencies, ultimately benefitting the local community.
The performance of current energy and water companies was also evaluated against established strategic and technical benchmarks. Emphasis was placed on enhancing service quality and operational efficiency to meet international standards.
Sheikh Hazza reiterated the necessity of advancing the technical infrastructure for energy and water services through the application of advanced technologies and artificial intelligence, which will foster sustainable practices and readiness for future challenges in both sectors.
Delegates expressed their gratitude to Sheikh Hazza and the UAE leadership for their unwavering support of the energy and water initiatives, affirming their dedication to improving service efficiency aligned with the nation’s development vision.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Engineer Ahmed Mohamed Al Rumaithi, Undersecretary of the Department of Energy, and Jasim Husain Thabet, Group CEO and Managing Director of TAQA, were also present, along with various officials from both organizations.
