His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), presided over a council meeting on Tuesday. Alongside His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, also Vice Chairman of the SEC, the meeting took place at the Sharjah Ruler’s Office.

Wheat Harvest and “Mazraaty” Initiative

The Council applauded His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for the success of the fourth season wheat harvest. Recognition was also given to the launch of the “Mazraaty” initiative, which supports farmers and animal breeders.

This program emphasizes enhancing the quality of organic agricultural output, bolstering national food security, and ensuring sustainability for the future.

Government Performance Review and Development Strategies

The council evaluated the efficacy of government departments and their strategic plans. Discussions focused on various sectors aimed at uplifting the quality of life for residents.

These initiatives are structured to respond to community demands and to elevate the proficiency of government services throughout the emirate.

Sharjah Archaeology Authority Structure Approved

Approval was granted for the organizational framework and roles within the Sharjah Archaeology Authority (SAA), in line with directives to enhance institutional performance and operational efficiency.

This initiative is set to cultivate national expertise in archaeology and bolster efforts to safeguard cultural heritage, reinforcing Sharjah's status as a prominent cultural center both regionally and internationally.

Reforms in the Judicial Sector

The council sanctioned new fees for expert services in judicial authorities, a measure intended to regulate professional standards, elevate service quality, and enhance transparency and fairness within the legal framework.

Housing Initiatives for Family Well-being

A report concerning residential complexes was reviewed by the Council, focusing on their pivotal role in family support. These projects accelerate housing delivery, minimize construction expenses, and maintain high standards with coherent designs and supervision.

The complexes will also offer comprehensive infrastructure and services, elevating living conditions and mitigating delays in housing construction.

Housing Data and Prospective Plans

The report stated that 2,488 government housing units are currently being developed in Sharjah. Of these, 1,154 units have been completed and delivered, while construction on 1,334 units is ongoing.

Additionally, the report emphasized the distribution of housing projects, challenges faced, and recommendations for the future. These measures aim to enhance the housing system and align with citizen expectations.
