Based in Abu Dhabi, Sanad Group, a leading aerospace engineering and asset management firm under Mubadala Investment Company, has unveiled impressive financial and operational results for 2025.
The group generated AED 7 billion (USD 1.9 billion) in revenue, representing a 41% rise compared to 2024. This marks the second consecutive year of exceptional performance, largely thanks to surging global demand for maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for aircraft engines.
Robust Growth Driven by Global MRO Demand
Sanad Group capitalized on the increasing need in the aviation sector, as airlines opted to extend the lifespan of their existing fleets amidst global constraints in engine maintenance capacity.
In 2025, the company initiated 230 engine inductions, a rise from 161 in the previous year, showcasing substantial operational growth across notable engine programs such as Trent 700, V2500, LEAP, and GEnx.
Expansion of International Clientele
The group broadened its global footprint by acquiring 24 new customers, including major players like AirAsia and Royal Jordanian. Sanad now has partnerships with over 80 global airlines, operators, and lessors.
With a contracted backlog reaching AED 38 billion, the company ensures long-term revenue security, solidifying its role as a premier global MRO provider.
Strategic Investments and Facility Advancements
To meet rising demand, Sanad invested over AED 100 million to enhance infrastructure, repair capabilities, and improve operational workflows.
Additionally, the company strengthened its partnership with AMMROC, enhancing operational capacity and fortifying its MRO operations in Abu Dhabi.
A highlight of 2025 was the establishment of a state-of-the-art GTF engine MRO center in Al Ain, created in collaboration with Pratt & Whitney. This facility is expected to include twin test cells, evolving into one of the largest engine testing centers in the area.
Asset Management Performance
Sanad's asset management division saw considerable success, selling approximately 7,000 engine components across 46 locations worldwide and receiving accolades, including the Deal of the Year – MEA award.
The company continued to expand its engine portfolio, acquiring 10 new engines in 2025, with plans for further acquisitions in the 2026 growth strategy.
Workforce Enhancements and Emiratisation Efforts
Sanad Group significantly expanded its workforce, growing to 855 employees with 306 new hires in 2025. The Emiratisation rate climbed to 36%, up from 23.1% in 2022, reflecting dedication to nurturing local talent.
The company launched numerous training initiatives in collaboration with global institutions like Rolls-Royce and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, aiming to cultivate a skilled workforce for the future of aerospace.
Looking forward, Sanad Group intends to broaden its MRO capacities, enhance international collaborations, and maintain strategic investments in its aerospace and asset management sectors.
With escalating demand for engine maintenance globally, the company is well-positioned for sustained growth, reinforcing Abu Dhabi's status as a pivotal aerospace hub.
