Cristiano Ronaldo made a powerful comeback from injury, scoring twice as Al Nassr secured an emphatic 5-2 victory over Al Najma in the Saudi Pro League.
The Portuguese star, who had been sidelined for nearly a month due to injury, returned to action in style. He had missed key fixtures for both his club and the Portugal national team, including international friendlies against Mexico and the United States.
Despite Al Nassr entering the match as favorites, Al Najma shocked the hosts by taking the lead just before halftime through Rakan Al Tulayhi. However, Al Nassr responded immediately in stoppage time, with goals from Abdullah Al Hamdan and Sadio Mane turning the game around before the break.
Al Najma briefly equalized early in the second half via Felippe Cardoso, but the momentum quickly shifted back. Ronaldo converted a penalty in the 56th minute to restore the lead and later added his second goal in the 73rd minute, showcasing his trademark finishing ability. Mane then sealed the victory with a stoppage-time goal.
The win marked Al Nassr’s 13th consecutive league victory, reinforcing their dominance at the top of the table with 70 points. They now sit comfortably ahead of rivals Al Hilal, who trail by six points and are set to play their next fixture against Al Taawoun.
Ronaldo’s return and immediate impact provide a significant boost for Al Nassr as they push for the league title, highlighting his continued influence even at the age of 41.
