As the world gears up for festive celebrations with quirky sweaters and sparkling decorations, veteran actress Rekha has once again captured hearts with her timeless elegance. On Christmas Day, fashion designer Manish Malhotra unveiled a stunning photo series featuring Rekha in a breathtaking look that perfectly blends traditional Indian royalty with the festive spirit.
At 71 years old, Rekha continues to set the standard for grace and glamour. Her Christmas outfit was centered on a deep burgundy velvet tunic — a fabric known for its rich texture and winter warmth. The tunic’s luxurious sheen made it an ideal choice for a glamorous holiday look.
Complementing the velvet was a flowing satin saree in vibrant scarlet red, creating a beautiful contrast that highlighted different shades of red. This thoughtful mix of deep wine and bright scarlet created a layered, monochromatic effect that added richness and movement to her attire.
In keeping with her love for bold accessories, Rekha layered chunky antique gold jewelry — from thick bangles to statement necklaces — that stood out strikingly against the red tones. Adding a retro touch, she sported oversized tinted sunglasses and a velvet headband, while her sleek pulled-back hairstyle accentuated her iconic facial features. The look was rounded off with a matching velvet potli bag adorned with tassel drawstrings, maintaining the coordinated and elegant theme.
No Rekha ensemble is complete without her signature glamour. This Christmas, she chose a bold red lipstick that reflected the festive mood, paired with bronze-smoky eyes, perfectly shaped eyebrows, and a glowing complexion that defies age.
Rekha’s regal and modern take on traditional Indian attire is a true celebration of style and heritage, proving that elegance only grows stronger with time.
