8.2 Million People Utilized Dubai's Public Transport Over Eid Break

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai reported that 8.2 million users accessed various public transport and mobility services throughout the Eid Al-Adha holiday for 1447 AH / 2026.

The statistics encompass the five-day holiday period from May 25 to May 29, 2026, underscoring the robust interest in Dubai's comprehensive transport system.

Taking the lead in popularity, the Dubai Metro accommodated 3.3 million passengers, with both the Red and Green Lines being extensively utilized. The Dubai Tram also contributed significantly, carrying 114,300 passengers during the holiday.

Public buses facilitated the travel of 1.73 million individuals, while marine transport options, including various watercraft, accounted for 304,300 riders during this timeframe.

In addition, the taxi services, consisting of both Dubai Taxi and franchise vehicles, served 2.3 million people, positioning taxis as the second most frequented transport mode for holiday travelers.

Furthermore, shared mobility services reported 402,700 users. This category comprises smart app-based vehicles, hourly rentals, and Bus-On-Demand services.

These figures reflect a significant dependence on Dubai's public transport network during the Eid Al-Adha holiday, as numerous residents and tourists utilized various modes of transportation throughout the emirate.
