Veteran actor Rajashekar, who previously served as a doctor, is back to the sets after a health-related hiatus. The 63-year-old actor endured a significant ankle injury during the shoot of an action sequence in Medchal, Hyderabad. On November 25, he suffered multiple fractures along with a bimalleolar dislocation, leading to a critical condition stemming from severe impact. He was rushed to a medical facility where doctors advised immediate surgery to prevent future complications.
The procedure lasted three hours and involved open reduction and internal fixation utilizing K-wires, screws, and a semi-tubular plate to stabilize the ankle. A trans-fixation of the tibia was also completed via a wire passing through the calcaneum and talus. Post-surgery, the actor is managing significant pain and has been instructed to keep his leg immobile for three to four weeks. Consequently, filming has been put on hold until January 2026, contingent on his recovery progress.
This incident isn’t the first time Rajashekar has faced a severe leg injury; he previously sustained a similar ankle injury while working on Magaadu in November 1989. Nevertheless, he is on the mend and concentrating on rehabilitation before returning to his projects.
Rajashekar’s last appearance was in the 2023 film Extra Ordinary Man, directed by Vakkantham Vamsi, alongside Nithiin and Sreeleela. He is currently partnered with Sharwanand on Biker, which was slated for release on December 11, and has two additional yet-to-be-announced films in the pipeline. His family, including wife Jeevitha and daughters Shivani and Shivathmika, have not shared updates regarding his recovery.
Fans are hopeful for his speedy recovery and eagerly await his return to the screen, reminding everyone of the challenging realities actors face and the need for careful recovery after significant injuries.
