The Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) took an active role in the 2026 ECOSOC Youth Forum hosted at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, underscoring Qatar's unwavering dedication to youth empowerment and sustainable development.
With the theme “Innovate, Unite and Transform: Youth Shaping the Road to 2030,” the forum gathered young leaders, representatives from UN member states, and global partners focused on propelling forward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This platform showcased the essential involvement of youth in fostering innovation, promoting collaboration, and shaping inclusive global policies.
QFFD's involvement highlighted Qatar's commitment to the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) agenda, stressing the significance of integrating young people as vital contributors in peacebuilding, social cohesion, and long-term sustainable development efforts.
Additionally, QFFD participated in an Expert-to-Youth Dialogue during a side event titled “From Doha to the World: Youth-led Partnerships to Propel the Youth, Peace and Security Agenda and Speed Up the SDGs.” This session, organized by Qatar's Ministry of Sports and Youth, convened key stakeholders from governments, international organizations, and civil society to debate collaborative strategies concerning SDGs 6, 7, 9, 11, and 17.
Ibrahim Abdulla Al-Baker, Global Advocacy Researcher representing QFFD, underscored the organization's commitment to promoting scalable and innovative solutions. He pointed out how initiatives led by youth can significantly impact peacebuilding and enhance international cooperation and resource allocation.
This engagement generates momentum for the upcoming Arab Youth, Peace and Security Forum, slated to occur in Doha in November 2026. The event aims to further promote Qatar as a global centre for dialogue and partnership on youth-focused development and peace initiatives.
QFFD reiterated its pledge to support inclusive, youth-centered solutions that facilitate the achievement of the SDGs while contributing to a more resilient, peaceful, and sustainable future globally.
