The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has labeled the Israeli actions as a perilous escalation threatening the stability of the region. It highlighted that these attacks severely compromise Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, representing a blatant violation of international humanitarian law as well as a challenge to the rules-based international order.
Expressing profound worry over escalating violence, Qatar called upon the global community to act swiftly. The nation urged international powers and organizations to assert their influence by compelling Israel to halt its ongoing strikes on Lebanon and adhere to international laws and treaties.
Emphasizing the necessity for full compliance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, Qatar reiterated its stance. This resolution, established in 2006, seeks to uphold peace and security along the Lebanon-Israel border while deterring further military conflicts.
Qatar reaffirmed its enduring support for Lebanon, highlighting its devotion to the country's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. The ministry declared Qatar’s full backing for all initiatives aimed at reinforcing Lebanon’s security, stability, and economic growth.
This statement from Qatar emerges amidst rising tensions in the region and escalating global apprehensions regarding the humanitarian impact of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
