The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society has officially confirmed that Northern Thailand will experience summer storms between April 23 and April 25, 2026. The announcement was verified through the Thailand Anti-Fake News Center, which identified the report as accurate and urged the public to take precautionary measures during this period.
According to officials, the storms are expected to bring thunderstorms, strong winds, lightning, and possible hail in certain areas. The weather system will initially affect northern and northeastern regions before extending toward central and eastern parts of the country.
Meteorological experts explained that the situation is being caused by a high-pressure system or cold air mass moving from China across the South China Sea and into northeastern Thailand. At the same time, upper Thailand continues to experience extremely hot weather, which increases the chances of sudden and intense summer storms.
Authorities have warned residents to remain alert, avoid outdoor activities during severe weather conditions, and secure property to prevent damage from strong winds. People living in vulnerable areas are advised to closely monitor official weather updates and follow safety guidelines issued by local agencies.
In addition to storm concerns, air pollution remains a serious issue in northern and upper central regions. Officials reported that pollution levels have exceeded standard limits due to a high number of hotspots in surrounding areas. The public is advised to limit outdoor exposure and wear N95 masks when necessary.
The Ministry also highlighted the growing problem of fake news circulating online. It warned that misinformation can create confusion, panic, and potential harm to individuals and society. Citizens are strongly encouraged to verify information from official sources before sharing it on social media.
Authorities emphasized that awareness and responsible information sharing are essential, especially during weather emergencies. By relying only on verified updates, the public can stay safe and avoid unnecessary risks during this storm period.
