Nidhhi Agerwal Crowd Incident: Mall and Event Organizers Questioned by Police

Nidhhi Agerwal Crowd Incident: Mall and Event Organizers Questioned by Police

Post by : Meena Ariff

Following a chaotic incident where actor Nidhhi Agerwal was overwhelmed by fans at her song launch for The Raja Saab, authorities have initiated inquiries into the mall management and event coordinators. The episode gained significant traction on social media as videos of the overwhelming crowd emerged.

Investigators focused on the lack of secured permissions for the event and shortcomings in crowd control and security protocols. The police took the initiative to file a suo motu case after observing the footage online. Sources indicate that Agerwal has opted not to file an official complaint, leading officials to proceed with their own inquiries.

Initial observations reveal that when Agerwal was departing the venue, fans converged near the exit, creating a surge when she attempted to engage with one of them. The crowd's intensity forced her to navigate through a chaotic scene, leaving security personnel struggling to ensure her safety.

Charges have been lodged under Sections 223 (disobedience to an order by a public servant) and 292 (public nuisance) against the mall's management and an event organizer.

Authorities are scrutinizing CCTV recordings to identify individuals involved and to evaluate the adequacy of the event's security measures. Those implicated are likely to face further questioning as investigations aim to uncover if additional failures contributed to the situation.

The incident has sparked a vital conversation around safety measures during celebrity engagements and the accountability of event planners in preventing incidents involving large crowds.
