Mona Singh, a talented actress, has gradually transitioned from traditional television to the dynamic world of OTT platforms and films. She highlighted how OTT enables performers to take on intricate and meaningful roles, unencumbered by the censorship prevalent on TV.
She stated, “The online series we watch can’t be aired on television because of strict regulations. As an artist, portraying such nuanced characters is impossible in that space. I'm thrilled that audiences have welcomed OTT. This is an exciting era for actors, writers, and creators—there’s an abundance of stories waiting to be told.”
Mona kicked off her acting journey with the iconic TV series Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin back in 2003. After dedicating ten years to television dramas, variety shows, and hosting reality programs, she transitioned to films and web series. Reflecting on her experiences, she remarked, “From Jassi to my role as a detective in the web series Mistry, as well as participating in Made in Heaven season 2 and The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, it’s been an incredible ride. Coming to Mumbai without contacts, everything that occurred feels like a blessing. I’ve always loved embracing challenges, and I feel fortunate to gain such wonderful opportunities on OTT now.”
Most recently, Mona appeared in Aryan Khan’s The Ba**ds of Bollywood* on Netflix. She is set to star in Border 2 alongside Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, which premieres in theaters on January 25 for the Republic Day weekend.
