A shocking triple death case in Merbok has left the community in distress, as authorities continue forensic investigations. Police confirmed that post-mortem examinations of a married couple believed to have been murdered have been completed, but their bodies have not yet been released to the family.
According to officials, the remains are being held at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital for further identification. DNA and fingerprint verification processes are still ongoing to formally confirm the identities before handing over the bodies.
The victims were identified as Zikri Abdul Rahman, 65, and his wife Suraya Man, 53. Their bodies were discovered inside their home in Kampung Belau, with police stating they had likely been dead for more than 48 hours before being found.
Authorities believe the suspect is Suraya’s son, whose body was discovered upstairs with a fatal neck injury. His remains have already been claimed by his family and laid to rest, while investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Police have not yet disclosed a clear motive but are treating the case as a serious domestic crime. The tragic incident has raised concerns about family-related violence, as officials work to complete forensic procedures and determine the full sequence of events.
