Mel Gibson and Rosalind Ross have officially revealed that they separated around a year ago but chose to keep the news private until now. The couple, who first began dating in 2014, issued a joint statement to share the update and to reaffirm their commitment to co-parenting their 8-year-old son, Lars. Despite their decision to go their separate ways, they emphasized that their focus remains on providing a loving and supportive environment for their child.
In their heartfelt statement, the couple said, “While it’s difficult to close this chapter of our lives, we are grateful for our beautiful son and remain committed to being the best parents we can be.” This message highlights the respect and mutual understanding they continue to share, even after ending their romantic relationship. They made it clear that their priority is to ensure Lars feels loved and supported as they navigate their new family dynamic.
Mel Gibson, now 69, is widely recognized as a talented actor, director, and producer in Hollywood. He has made a significant impact on the film industry with acclaimed movies like Braveheart, which won him the Best Director and Best Picture Oscars in 1996, The Patriot, and Blood Father. Gibson has a large family, with seven children from his marriage to Robyn Moore, whom he was married to from 1980 until their divorce in 2011. In addition, he shares a 16-year-old daughter with songwriter Oksana Grigorieva.
Rosalind Ross, 35, has her own impressive background as a film director and a former equestrian vaulter. Although she and Gibson were never married, they maintained a close partnership for many years. Now, as they move forward separately, both are focused on co-parenting their son and fostering a positive and nurturing environment for him. Their shared dedication to Lars remains unwavering as they begin this new chapter in their lives.
