Malaysia’s top women’s doubles team, Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah, delivered an impressive performance at the 2026 India Open, advancing to the semifinals after a solid victory over Taiwan’s Hsieh Pei Shan and Hung En Tzu in the quarterfinals. Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik will face either Taiwan’s Liu Kuang Heng and Yang Po Han or Japan’s Hiroki Midorikawa and Kyohei Yamashita in the semifinals. Both potential opponents bring strong competitive skills, promising a challenging match for the Malaysian pair.
In mixed doubles action, Malaysia’s Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Lai fought hard but narrowly missed out on a semifinal spot. They were edged out by the tournament’s top-seeded Chinese pair, Feng Yan Zhe and Huang Dong Ping, in a thrilling three-set battle. The match was closely contested, with scores of 19-21, 21-19, and 18-21, reflecting the intense competition and resilience shown by the Malaysian duo.
