In preparation for the upcoming Hajj season, the Madinah Buses initiative, overseen by the Al Madinah Region Development Authority, will temporarily halt its public transportation services starting at noon on the 9th of Dhu Al Hijjah 1447 AH.
As reported by the Saudi Press Agency, normal bus operations are set to resume on the morning of the second day of Eid Al Adha.
This action is part of an operational strategy aimed at optimizing traffic flow, minimizing congestion, and improving logistical efficiency during the peak pilgrimage season when millions move between the holy cities.
Officials noted that this suspension supports crowd management initiatives and aims to facilitate smoother transport within Madinah during the pilgrimage.
While general public transport routes will be on pause, specialized shuttle services to the Prophet’s Mosque and Quba Mosque will remain operational to assist pilgrims and visitors in accessing these sacred sites.
Residents and travelers are encouraged to check official social media channels and transport updates for the most recent information on service schedules and operational alterations during Hajj.
