The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has officially submitted its investigation papers involving senior Armed Forces officers to the public prosecutor for evaluation and further action.
MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki confirmed that proposed charges have also been included as part of the submission. He stated that any further updates on the matter would be shared once decisions are made by the prosecution.
The move comes after recent enforcement actions in which 23 individuals were detained under two major operations, Ops Parasit and Ops Star. Among those arrested were two senior officers and four high-ranking officials from the Armed Forces.
According to Azam, the investigation centers on alleged corruption and abuse of power linked to the procurement process and the use of public funds. The case reportedly involves claims of bribes received from multiple companies connected to defence-related procurement contracts.
He noted that the contracts in question are associated with the Armed Forces Welfare Fund and the Defence Ministry, raising serious concerns due to their direct link to national institutions.
The investigation began on October 7, 2025, and has been classified as highly sensitive because of the senior positions held by those implicated. Azam emphasized that the case carries significant public interest, given its potential impact on transparency, accountability, and public trust in defence-related governance.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to allowing the legal process to take its course, stressing that all actions are being carried out in accordance with the law.
