Kapil Sharma is back with a bang in the sequel ‘Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2’, where his unique blend of comedy takes centre stage, expanding the premise of the original film with a focus on religious tensions. The plot revolves around Mohan Sharma, a young man from Bhopal, whose plans to wed his love Sanya fall apart when familial opposition due to religious beliefs surfaces. To gain acceptance, Mohan decides to convert to Islam, leading to an unintended marriage with Ruhi, marking the beginning of a whirlwind of matrimonial chaos.
What starts as a minor mix-up evolves into an entangled web of marriages as Mohan, pressured by family expectations, ends up marrying Meera and later inadvertently ties the knot with Jenny while trying to secure his relationship with Sanya. His life spirals into more disorder when police begin pursuing him after he confesses to a priest. The sequel retains the structure of the original while weaving in new social themes that enhance the humor and conflict.
Director Anukalp Goswami ensures the film remains light-hearted and entertaining, kicking off with a series of laughs that capture the audience’s attention. While the film steers clear of lowbrow humor, relying more on situational gags and clever timing, it does stumble in pacing post-interval, with some jokes falling flat and scenes overstaying their welcome, particularly after the climax.
Kapil Sharma shines as the star, effortlessly transforming mundane moments into comedic highlights. Manjot Singh adds warmth as Mohan’s steadfast companion, while veteran Asrani makes a nostalgic appearance that showcases his timeless comedic talent. Akhilendra Mishra and Vipin Sharma bring depth as the conflicting parental figures. The performances from Tridha Choudhary, Ayesha Khan, and Parul Gulati as Mohan’s unexpected wives add charm to the mixture.
The film’s music, however, doesn't quite hit the mark, with various songs interrupting the narrative flow. Despite this, the engaging performances and wholesome comedy ensure the film resonates well with its audience.
‘Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2’ thrives when aligned with light humor and Kapil Sharma’s impeccable comedic timing. Although it may lack the sharpness expected of a sequel, it stands out as an enjoyable romp that families can appreciate without any prior anticipation.
