Post by : Badri Ariffin

On June 25, 2026, Iran marked Ashura, a day of significant spiritual significance in the Islamic calendar, as thousands congregated across various cities.

In Tehran, mourners dressed in black carried flags, banners, and images of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei during solemn ceremonies held to observe the 10th day of Muharram. This year’s observance came amid heightened tensions stemming from the recent conflict involving the US, Iran, and Israel.

Gatherings were notably prominent in locations like Enghelab Square, where memorial services combined traditional Shia mourning rituals for Imam Hussain with expressions of collective grief shaped by recent events affecting the nation's mood.
