Iran Warns US After Trump Power Grid Threat

Iran Warns US After Trump Power Grid Threat

Post by : Shakul

Tensions between Iran and the United States escalated after strong warnings were exchanged over potential attacks on electricity infrastructure.

Iranian security official Ali Larijani warned that any attempt by the United States to destroy Iran’s electricity systems would lead to severe retaliation. In a message posted on social media, Larijani said that if such an attack occurred, the region’s power grids could be targeted and US servicemen in the region would become vulnerable.

The warning came after Donald Trump stated that the United States had the capability to dismantle Iran’s electrical infrastructure within a short period if the conflict escalated further. Trump said the US could “take apart their electric capacity within one hour,” adding that rebuilding it could take decades.

Trump also claimed that recent American military operations had significantly weakened Iran’s military capabilities. However, he added that he hoped such an escalation would not be necessary.

In response, Larijani issued a sharp warning, saying that a regional blackout could occur quickly if Iran decided to retaliate. He suggested that darkness would create opportunities for attacks on US personnel stationed in the region.

The heated exchange follows increasing tensions surrounding the strategic Strait of Hormuz, where Iran has repeatedly warned it could disrupt global oil supplies if the conflict intensifies.

Trump earlier warned that any attempt by Iran to block oil shipments through the strait would trigger massive retaliation from the United States. He said any future US strikes would be far stronger than previous operations.

Analysts say the latest statements highlight growing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, with both sides exchanging threats while the wider region watches closely for signs of further escalation.
